**what is naked.?**

naked. is an open mic series, that’s not your typical open mic. it’s a curated space that merges creativity, vulnerability, intimacy, and intentional dialogue to provide community with a deeper connection with itself. it’s a space that reclaims art as a spiritual and healing practice, where we engage curiosity, challenge social norms, build community, practice being present and step outside of comfort zones. there’s no mic or stage, and ALL art forms are welcome. those who attend are invited to be vulnerable, or naked—free from the armor and masks often worn to navigate the world.

naked. beginnings

birthed in New Orleans, February 2018, naked. was hosted there at Dancing Grounds, monthly, until the quarantine shutdown in March 2020.

while in New Orleans, naked. featured local small business owners vending in the space, themed nights dedicated to love, practice presence, divine androgyny and black male masculinity, featured local artists, and empowered local community members to be special featured hosts.

shortly after COVID, it went on hiatus and made its return at a private event in Los Angeles, CA, in 2021.

after 2 more years in hiatus, naked made its Brooklyn premiere Summer 2023, where it is currently hosted.
