what is naked?

naked is “the open mic without a mic” — a space where art, in any format, is welcomed and celebrated, that centers vulnerability through artistic expression and discussion.

topics explored range from spirituality, healing, mental health and the current state of the world—covering the broad yet often shared experiences of life.

naked. is curated in such a way to support vulnerability, authenticity, healing, empowerment, and a deeper connection with self and community.

those who attend are invited to be vulnerable, or naked—free from the armor and masks often worn to navigate the world.

it is an open mic without a mic, because it allows for a more immersed environment for those sharing their art — one where they can be both heard and felt simultaneously.

those who attend are invited to be vulnerable, or naked—free from the armor and masks often worn to navigate the world.

it is a space that asks:

if you could be naked, without judgment, what would you say, what would you share?

naked. beginnings

born in New Orleans, February 2018, naked is an event that ran monthly until the quarantine shutdown in March 2020.

while in New Orleans, naked featured local small business owners vending in the space, themed nights dedicated to divine androgyny and black male masculinity, local artists sharing their art, and empowered local community members to be special featured hosts.

shortly after COVID, it went on hiatus and made its return at a private event in Los Angeles, CA, in 2021.

after 2 more years in hiatus, naked made its Brooklyn premiere Summer 2023, where it is currently hosted.
