naked. is SLO Intent’s flagship event established 8 years ago. It is an open mic night and co-creative space for community to practice vulnerability, intimacy, and curiosity. It reclaims art as a spiritual and healing practice and is a container for holistic wellness, community building, social and self-awareness, and expanding past comfort zones.

There’s no mic or stage, and ALL art forms are welcome. those who attend are invited to be vulnerable, or naked, of the armor and masks often worn to navigate the world.

It’s a space that asks:

If you could be naked, without judgment, what would you say, what would you share?

naked.History

Birthed in New Orleans, February 2018, naked. was hosted at Dancing Grounds, monthly, until the quarantine shutdown in March 2020.

While in New Orleans, naked. featured local small business owners vending in the space, themed nights dedicated to love, practicing presence, divine androgyny and black male masculinity, featured local artists, and mentored local community members to be special featured hosts.

Shortly after COVID, it went on hiatus and made its return at a private event in Los Angeles, CA, in 2021.

After 2 more years in hiatus, naked made its Brooklyn premiere Summer 2023, where it is currently hosted.
